Success in the Brass Band world

Warrant Officer Class Two John Storey won Best Euphonium in the Brass Band Championship Section playing for Sandhurst Silver Band, who also reach the National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall for the first time.

 

Bands featuring musicians from The Royal Corps of Army Music also saw success. These include Zone One Brass, from central London, who won the Championship Section for London and the Home Counties; Flowers Band, from Gloucester, won Championship Section; Fulham Brass Band, from west London, won First Section; Cockerton Prize Silver Band, from Darlington, debuted in the Championship section.

 

EverReady Band, from Durham, won the Championship section, with Cpl Brown from British Army Band Catterick winning best bass section; NASUWT Band, from Chester-Le-Street, came second in the championship section; Desford Colliery Brass Band, from Leicestershire, came second in the Championship section.
